BCV is pioneering a novel class of endovascular device with its first-generation actuable mechatronic guidewire, designed to improve access and navigation in complex vascular anatomies. The technology, which features a smart handle and a Shape Memory Alloy-actuated tip, aims to make procedures faster, safer, and compatible with robotic and AI-assisted platforms. Co-founded by an interventional neuroradiologist and engineering experts from Sorbonne University, the startup is supported by French and EU innovation grants and is positioned to address a significant unmet need in interventional medicine. Its platform has broad applicability beyond its initial cardiovascular and neurovascular focus.
